Saturday June 11th 2016.
Saturday Life’s Little Adventures Farm’s benefit horse show began with the threat of thunderstorms, which thankfully never arrived. Lewis Road Metro Parks show ring was in great shape, and the park management sent a crew to set up a water faucet close to the show ring and parked horse trailers.
Human, equine, and canines on the grounds needed to stay well hydrated as the temps spiked into the mid ninety degree range. The extremely heavy winds sent tents tumbling prior to the start of the show. Entry forms occasionally sent show staff and exhibitors scrambling to scoop up them up as they tried to take flight in a strong gust throughout the day.
Everything had to be weighted down. On the positive end, the wind made what could have been a miserably hot day a comfortable experience for staff, vendors, and equines. Even the judge enjoyed the benefits of nature’s cooling fan.
Here are a few photos of the rescue horses, some were shown by their new adoptive parents, and a couple were there as ambassadors for the rescue farm.

Marketing step #1: Design a cover photo for the new Facebook entity Half Appy Press.
Step 2: Develop a post.
Step 3: Invite friends from my profile, as Jackie, to friend HAP’s Page. Not as easy as you may think. I get oodles of requests to friend or like a page daily, and often finding the time to look at all the request gets a bit overwhelming. That said the friends are trickling in.
Step 4: Promote: Half Appy Press FB: https://www.facebook.com/halfappy.press tweet it, and post the link on my Facebook profile. This all happened yesterday while I was working on building a new website for HAP. The announcement of the website provided my second post for Facebook
Half Appy Pres was set up as a DBA to make a home for my adult novels written as J.M. Anton.
I was really tired of paying other POD publishers huge bucks to layout and print my books. I have always had a problem relinquishing control over my creative process and was rarely satisfied with the results.
As a member of IBPA I researched until I found Ingram Spark, and the rest is not recent history. The learning curve was huge. Missteps were more than a few, but I’m getting a handle on it.
Half Appy Press has published three of J.M.’s adult works: two novellas in the “Troubles in Love-Land Series,” and the soon to be released novel Cassandra: Night Shades.
Two new offerings published at HAP are helpful journals for writers and those trying to downsize their wardrobe. The journals were created by Jackie Anton, and she is working on a coloring and activity book to be released this summer.
Book Clubs, and Retailers can use the contact page at the Half Appy Press website receive large order quotes and drop shipments.
Due to the March Madness, I haven’t e-mailed the Book of the Month Club Members, yet.
No worries March’s book of the month will carry through April.
As always, thank you for visiting this blog.
Welcome to HAP’s new website. We are still under construction, but please take a look around. This is our second attempt to put together a blog, and we have no idea where the first attempt ended up.
All the books on this website have been published by Half Appy Press in the past eight months.
Both authors have other works that can be viewed at Jackie Anton’s website.
http://tales byjackie.com where you will find out more about what inspires her works. Enjoy the video trailers while you are there and we are working on this site. Links and excerpts are included on that site as well as on the Independent Author Network Author’s Page.
There are links to purchase points for e-books and print editions as well as book excerpts.
Only ten days remain before Cassandra: Night Shades is released, so make sure to get your pre-orders in before then. Follow the IAN link to order your e-book and check out the Jackie Anton button, which will take you to her Square Market Place.
Cassandra goes on tour March 14th of 2016. There will be more on that the day before on this blog, and hopefully we will be up and running by then. Once our store and shopping cart is up and running, this site will be the go to for all books offered by Half Appy Press.
Thank you for visiting with us.
